It has been a challenging time since the end of February with Covid -19 hitting our country and now it is more important than ever to have a strong immune system.
We have been in lockdown for 3 months and this has seen many of us upping the alcohol intake and comfort eating, this has led to a lot of people gaining weight the average being around 10lb. This in itself can compromise our system, we know from all the data the risks of being obese and having diabetes and heart disease can make us more susceptible to have problems if we catch this disease.
At the start of lockdown everyone was panic buying there was a shortage of essential foods like fruit and vegetable, eggs and meat so many people were buying ready meals as it was the most they could get, but we all know most ready meals have high salt, sugar and fat contents and are highly processed. Eating this way could have caused lower energy so less desire to exercise and move and so gaining weight.
