Working out alone is rarely fun, if you are a trained PT or exercise pro then sure you know what you’re doing in the gym or even at home and you know how to push yourself, however if your just starting out, it can be quite daunting and confusing as to know what to do and where to start.
Unless you get a proper induction in a gym even then you may not remember it all and you may give up because you find all the equipment difficult or just haven’t got the time to get there programme, you don’t know whether to do cardio or weights, Tabatha or HIIT, spin or boxercise, there is so much to take in.
Wouldn’t it be easier if you had someone else to show you how so you feel you are not alone?
What if you can’t afford a gym membership, or you just haven’t got time to get to the gym, work out, shower and get home again as that can take two hours out of your day.
Let me tell you the benefits of having an accountability buddy or an accountability group when working out, you may think you can go it alone but just read on.
Fitness is no different than how we live our everyday lives, we need support somewhere along the way if we are going to get anywhere. You may say she would say this she wants me to join her group, but I know from personal experience I work harder and more effective if I’m accountable to someone.
It’s hard on your own to be motivated as something else always seems more important to do.
The truth is to get fitter and healthier is not just a little decision you make we all know we need to look after ourselves more, but it takes a lot to break a habit of a lifetime, it’s a big change you are going to make, but it will be the best one your ever make.
Talk to a friend or join my group 5 smart ingredients for better health on facebook, think of your friend or the group as your boss or your safety net.
You will have lazy days when you want to pull the duvet back over your head and you don’t feel motivated, you will hurt and ache for a while, there will be days when you’re eating crap or you have been out to eat and have made unhealthy choices, had too much alcohol and you will get home and hate yourself for it and say never again, but you will repeat it.
If however you have an accountability buddy or you are in the group it will make you think more.
- It will be there at all times to encourage you
- It will give you encouragement, support and advice
- Healthy recipes
- Challenges to complete
- Daily accountability
However you have a duty to make sure you check in each day with what you have done and I’m sure if you use Facebook this won’t be hard to do.
